I Saved This. Why? is designed with privacy in mind. The app helps you understand why you saved a screenshot and suggests useful next actions, such as adding an event to Calendar, creating a Reminder, opening a place in Maps, or saving information for later.

1. Data Collection

I Saved This. Why? does not collect, sell, or share your personal data.

The app does not require you to create an account or sign in.

We do not operate a user database for this app.

2. Screenshots and Photos

You choose which screenshots to analyze.

The app uses Apple’s PhotosPicker to let you select screenshots from your photo library.

I Saved This. Why? does not automatically scan or access your entire photo library.

Selected screenshots are processed on your device.

Screenshots are not uploaded to our servers.

3. Text Recognition

The app may use Apple Vision to recognize text contained in a screenshot.

This text recognition happens on your device.

Recognized text is not sent to our servers.

4. Apple Intelligence and On-Device Analysis

When supported by your device, I Saved This. Why? uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models to analyze recognized text and infer why you may have saved a screenshot.
